Established in 1992, AddOn Systems is a leading IT solutions provider in Singapore. From end-to-end IT solutions, turnkey to partial in demand services, their team of highly experienced and professionally certified industry veterans deliver deep business and technical expertise.

Supported by world renowned brands across the IT industry such as Asus, HP, Lenovo, HP, Acronis, Microsoft, etc, AddOn offers comprehensive, customized solutions and services ranging from infrastructure, perimeter and cyber security protection, digital services as well as managed services. Their clients range from Financial Services, Government, Education, Manufacturing and Transportation.

They also operate Onsmart.sg, a One-Stop Online IT Concept store serving Singapore and Malaysia and are the authorized agent for Lenovo Flagship store in Funan and Asus Exclusive store in Bugis Junction.

The Situation / Problem

 

Operating a fully on-premise IT operations until they shifted to a hybrid model, moving e-Commerce, corporate website and testing & development workloads to a well-known Tier 1 Cloud provider. Their production and client workloads remained on premise in AddOn’s corporate data center.

They discovered several unexpected challenges:

  • As a largely self-service environment, they needed to build their own know-how to maximize the effectiveness of the services offered
  • Access to support involved navigating FAQs, email requests, etc before finally getting a live person to talk to, often a day or more later
  • Hosting costs were uncertain as they fluctuated about 30% month to month due to varied bandwidth usage and bills were difficult to understand with little details supporting the variable charges
