Junior DevOps Engineer

Do you have a knack for coding and tackling complex IT web applications? In this unique DevOps role at iWV, you will be more than just being an enabler between businesses and IT operations. The role entails cross-functional and domain responsibilities that provides great opportunities and exposure for individuals to delve into coding and cloud automation deployment.
We are looking for a passionate self-starter who is a strong team player and enjoys analysing, thinking out-of-the-box and implementing creative automated solutions.
We are not going to ask you to be customer oriented, because that is given! If you enjoy solving problems and have a love for technical challenges, plus you seriously wouldn’t mind a chance to work in a friendly, flexible and collaborative environment – you might just be the one we are looking for!
What we seek in you?

✓ Well versed in cloud-based technologies and architectures

✓ Good understanding of virtualization and system administration (Linux / Windows)

✓ Working knowledge of networking concepts and general web functions and standards

✓ Hands-on experience in network and storage

✓ Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef or Puppet

✓ Experience in web application development (PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, MySQL)

✓ Good grasp of security principles in web application development

✓ Broad understanding of good software development practices
Extra brownie points if you have these:

✓ 2+ years of experience in managing DevOps platform

✓ Demonstrate leadership skills

✓ Have prior project management experience

✓ Experience in gathering business requirements

✓ Ability to write technical requirement specifications and documentation

✓ Experience in crafting test plan and procedures

✓ You speak in common tongue that your peers can understand

✓ A computer science, ICT related university degree or equivalent industry qualifications or experience
